A First Look VS a First Touch on your Wedding Day

A first touch is such a sweet and special moment on your wedding day. Over the years of being a California wedding photographer, my beautiful brides have always asked my opinion on a first look vs a first touch. I’m writing this blog to give you all of my thoughts on this topic and also share the gorgeous first touch photos from Erika and Charlie’s timeless wedding day!

What is a first touch?

To begin with, let’s touch on what exactly a first touch and first look are! Some brides choose to do a first look, which is creating a special moment before the ceremony to see each other. It’s usually a very intimate moment where the bride surprises their groom, share letters together, etc. If you want to see each other before the ceremony, this is the option for you!

A first touch, however, is a moment before the ceremony where you are in the same space but do not actually look at each other. This time can be used to pray over each other, share letters, etc. This is the perfect option for you if you want to have a sweet moment before your ceremony together but want to wait to see each other walking down the aisle!

First Touch at Hidden Oaks Venue

A first touch was the perfect option for Erika and Charlie!! They wanted a moment to pray together before their ceremony, but still wanted their special moment to see each other when she walked down the aisle. Their wedding day was absolutely stunning. Their venue, Hidden Oaks, was gorgeous and it’s located in Rancho Cucamonga! Erika loves anything vintage and romantic, and Charlie is a modern and vintage fan. This venue encompassed all of those feelings, especially during their first touch, and it was such a beautiful wedding day. So perfect for them!
